Paskerian

Former TV Producer, Diane Paskerian, was appointed by Governor Wilson to the Board of Directors of the California Film Commission in 1998.

The Film Commission is responsible for establishing and overseeing film making policies throughout the State of California as well as attracting producers and directors to film their movies in California impacting jobs and generating greater revenues.

Diane Paskerian, of San Francisco, has served under two California Governors (Governor George Deukmejian and Governor Pete Wilson) as Deputy Director of the Office of Tourism with the California Department of Commerce from 1983 to 1991. Since 1991, she has been President of Paskerian & Associates, a tourism consulting firm, and presently serves as a consultant with the California Travel & Tourism Industry Association to coordinate the Governor's Conference on Tourism and the California Travel Market for International Tour Operators.

Previously, Diane worked as a television producer for various music variety and talk shows in San Francisco (KPIX, KGO, KBHK) and in Hollywood at ABC-TV, NBC-TV and MGM. Among her credits are shows featuring Liberace, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Shirley Temple, Academy Awards Oscar telecasts and The Eleanor Roosevelt TV Special. She also was the program coordinator for the Hollywood and San Francisco Festival of World TV, the International Symposium of TV Cassettes and the Radio/TV Directors News Conference.

A Republican, she served as Governor Wilson's appointee to the California State Summer School for the Arts from 1991 to 1998 and was elected to serve as a Director of its Foundation Board. She is a member of the Silver Circle of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Northern California Chapter, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Los Angeles Chapter, and the National Association for Female Executives. She was also a member of the Women Appointees Council and the Board of Directors of the National Armenian Assembly.

Diane earned a Master's Degree in television, radio, film and speech from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor's Degree in television, radio and public relations from San Francisco State University.
