THE TELEVISION,RADIO AND NEWSPAPER MUSEUM OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Overview

NATAS has established a dynamic consortium to preserve Northern California’s broadcast and newspaper legacy. Regional media organizations and corporations, professional associations, industry leaders and educators have collaborated with NATAS to develop the Television, Radio & Newspaper Museum of Northern California.

Mission Statement

To serve as an educational and archival resource for the preservation and presentation of historic Northern California newspapers, radio and television broadcasts, equipment and memorabilia.

The Television, Radio and Newspaper Museum of Northern California will be:

  • An educational and archival resource for those who wish to explore popular American culture and contemporary Northern California history through the sights, sounds and written accounts of local television, radio and newspapers.
  • An archival resource for broadcast and journalism students, historians, documentary producers, film or video researchers, radio listeners, television viewers and critics.
  • A leading advocate for the preservation of irreplaceable broadcast and newspaper documents and materials.
  • The repository for on-going donations of historically significant broadcast programming, newspaper collections and related items from public and private sources.
  • A teaching center for film and video preservation, broadcast and newspaper oral histories, media literacy and other educational programs.
